School-Based Apprenticeships/Traineeships(SATs) VETiS

School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs) allow students to train and do paid work in their chosen area while they are still at school studying for their Senior Certificate.  As well as work, students will get extra training to build on the skills learned at work and at school.  This training may occur while they are at work or at school or at a TAFE or a private training college.

  • Studies for the Senior Certificate
  • Paid employee
  • Can be OP eligible
  • On and Off-the-job training
  • A head start on getting a qualification
  • Results on the Senior Certificate
  • Can convert to part time or full time after school
